The Lotus House, our QRTP, provides a trauma-informed comprehensive treatment program for children and youth in the Kansas Foster Care System. We have a 16-bed facility for male and female residents. We serve residents ages 6-17.  The Lotus House offers active treatment options, on-going communication with family and stakeholders, cultural competency and a dedicated professional staff to deliver services appropriate to and supportive of children and youth referred and admitted.

Services

Lotus House, Residents are eligible for the services provided by Pathway Family Services staff, such as:

  • Individual, Family, and Group Therapy with Trauma-Focused CBT and DBT focuses
  • Substance Use Disorder services, if needed
  • Psychosocial groups and lessons that focus on risky behaviors like substance use, runaway behaviors, and aggression
  • Community engagement opportunities
  • Education supports such as behavioral and mental health support, transportation, enrollment, and advocacy as needed
  • Trauma-responsive care in a structured, safe environment
  • Positive Behavioral Intervention and Supports for shaping and reinforcing behaviors

Culture

Lotus House strives to strengthen families by being a foster care placement for Kansas youth with serious emotional and mental health needs. At Lotus House we strive to be the therapeutic placement youth in foster care need by incorporating:

  • Individualized treatment and behavior plans designed to support resident success
  • The Building Bridges Initiative for employing non-coercive interventions
  • Youth Advisory Councils so residents can influence the future of Lotus House programming
  • Community, family, and friend engagement into care to support the resident’s connections to home
